It stays under your control. Where the data is kept, who can access it and who is responsible for what are set by the deployment model and the contract. When the city owns the CAMAN system, data ownership and the rights to outputs are set in its favour; when it buys CAMAN as a data service, the contract defines which data and outputs it receives and how it may use them.
No. CAMAN does not perform facial recognition or biometric identification of people.
Source video is kept unanonymised so that it can be analysed, checked and reprocessed, and it is meant only for designated authorised users. CAMAN’s rule is that personal data of third parties is anonymised before outputs are shared outside that group.
No. CAMAN analyses video for infrastructure and road safety: road damage, waste problems and street furniture from city vehicles, road users at complex junctions, and incidents on motorways. It does not perform facial recognition or biometric identification.
CAMAN has one security framework for the whole chain, from the vehicle to the customer’s systems. Before a binding offer we learn the city’s security standard. CAMAN fits into the customer’s own security framework; it does not replace it.
Deployment
Vehicles that already drive through the city, such as waste collection trucks and other municipal or service vehicles. The crew doesn’t operate it. Each vehicle carries an on-board unit, cameras and a separate power module.
An on-board unit with its cameras, and a separate power module. The unit records the cameras with GPS position and time, keeps the recordings until the vehicle is back at the depot, and connects over Wi-Fi there and to the mobile network on the road. The crew doesn’t operate it.
Potholes and other road damage, waste bins and bags, the state of collection points, illegal dumping, graffiti, traffic signs and street furniture: CAMAN can detect and classify more than 50 types of objects and conditions. Which detections run is agreed for each deployment.
On-premise, in the cloud or as a hybrid, depending on the project. The analysis runs on a CAMAN Edge Server, which can belong to the city and sit in its own infrastructure; in Michalovce it is in the depot the vehicles return to. Where the servers run is agreed together with the city’s security requirements.
Recording doesn’t depend on it. Video is stored in the vehicle and transferred at the depot; only smaller data, such as the vehicle’s position, uses the mobile network, depending on the deployment.
As often as equipped vehicles drive the observed routes. Scope and frequency are agreed for each deployment.
Yes. CAMAN Mobile runs on waste collection vehicles in Michalovce. CAMAN Static detects incidents on 76 cameras along the D4 and R7.
No. Each detection on the road surface gets a position from the vehicle’s GNSS, with RTK corrections where available, and from the camera’s calibration. A detection of the same kind at the same spot joins the history of the object already recorded there, so it isn’t counted as a new finding. Operators see each object’s history in the CAMAN console.
Pricing is agreed with each city as part of the scope.
With a conversation. Tell us which areas you manage or which platform you build. Then comes a security discovery, and together we agree the scope.
Integration
Detections with an object label, a timestamp, a GPS location, the footage they were found in and metadata such as the vehicle and camera. Operators review the alerts in the CAMAN console and mark each one true or false.
Integration with your systems is scoped per deployment. CAMAN is meant to feed the GIS, asset-management and city systems you already use, not to replace them.
Yes, as an integration partner (SW Integration Specialist) or an installation partner (Technician). The conditions are published on the Academy page: official CAMAN training, a test, and a certificate valid for one year. To ask about certification, write to sales@caman.ai.
Company
CAMAN® is a platform for repeated mobile collection and analysis of data about urban infrastructure. It turns visual, location and time data from routine vehicle journeys into structured information for cities and their GIS, Asset Management and Digital Twin systems. The name stands for CANEX Advanced Mobile Analytics Network.
Yes. CAMAN Static analyses fixed cameras in town, as at a junction in Svätý Jur, and on motorways, as on the D4 and R7, where it runs inside Genetec Security Center. CAMAN Mobile rides on city vehicles.
For cities and managers of roads, waste and technical services, and for the GIS, asset-management and Digital Twin platforms that serve them.
CAMAN is developed by CANEX, spol. s r. o., a company that designs, integrates and delivers systems, with more than 30 years of experience in video analytics, network technologies and system integration.
Yes. CAMAN® is a registered European Union trademark, No. 019173079, owned by CANEX, spol. s r. o.
Limitations
We state the limits up front, so that expectations match the deployment.
Coverage follows the vehicles. Data is refreshed for the areas and routes that equipped vehicles drive. It is not an automatic city-wide or real-time refresh.
Scope depends on the deployment. Frequency, detections and integration are agreed for each deployment.
No biometric identification. CAMAN does not perform facial recognition or biometric identification of people.
Controlled access to source video. Unanonymised source video is for designated authorised users only. CAMAN’s rule is that personal data of third parties is anonymised before outputs are shared outside that group.
Not a digital model of the city. CAMAN does not create or replace the city's digital model or GIS. It is a source of street-level detections.
Security discovery before an offer. We first learn the city's security standard. CAMAN fits into the customer's security framework; it does not replace it.
